RCB beat Kings XI Punjab by 4 wickets in Bangalore. RCB got their first victory of the season.
Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to field first. Four foreign players in the playing eleven for Kings XI included newly married Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye and Mujeeb ur Rahman. Bangalore included ABD, Chris Woakes, McCullum and Q de Kock as their four foreign players.
Kings XI yet again started their innings on a explosive note scoring 32 in first 3 overs. A big turnaround happened in the 4th over bowled by U Yadav. Kings XI lost 3 crucial wickets of M Agarwal, A Finch and Y Singh in the 4th over. At the end of the 4th over, score was 36/3. Karun Nair joined KL Rahul in the middle and they were assigned a task of building a big partnership. The duo added 58 runs for the 4th wicket in 7 overs before Rahul got out for 47 in the 11th over. Kings XI lost wickets at regular intervals and they were bundled out in the 20th over for 155 runs. Umesh Yadav completed his quota of 4 overs by taking 3 wickets for 23 runs.
Chasing a total of 156 to win, RCB lost McCullum for a duck in the first over. Kohli got dismissed for 21 and RCB were reduced to 33/2 in 5 overs. South African duo of de Kock and ABD built a good partnership and added 54 runs for the 3rd wicket. ABD went onto score a matching winning half century and got out for 57 runs. RCB reached the target in the 20th over and won the match by 4 wickets.
Umesh Yadav was adjudged Man of the Match.
